Zelienople, Pennsylvania is a small town approximately 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh with about 4,000 people and a moderate climate. In an area full of communities with unusual names (Mars and Cranberry Township, for example) this town fits right in.  Its unique title comes from the name “Zelie,” the name of the founder’s oldest daughter.  

Its small-town feel and quaint, historical beauty are what make older New England towns such wonderful places to live or visit.  Also, Zelienople is rarely blazing hot or bitterly cold and, therefore, is a great place to watch the seasons change.  If you are planning to visit, consider the summer so that you can enjoy the Horse Trading Days Arts and Music Festival, a festival with food, art, music, and more that has been held annually in July for over 50 years.  Also, worth checking out is a local attraction and landmark, Baldinger's Market, just south of town. The current market is an exact replica of the historic market which was featured on multiple television shows for its diverse foods and “penny candy.”

The town shares a park with neighboring Harmony, PA which features a pool, tennis courts, playground, and more.  It is the perfect place to spend Zelienople’s warm summer days and comfortable fall afternoons.  There are also shelters and other facilities that can be rented for birthday parties or other events.
