Jackson Township is located in the southwestern part of Butler County. Zelienople and Harmony are towns that lie inside of the township but which are separate.   Connoquenessing Creek runs through the northern section of the township.  This township is not full of attractions, stores, or restaurants but what it lacks in commercialism it more than makes up for with natural beauty, nice weather and a country feel.

Jackson Township’s “claim to fame” may be that parts of 1968’s “Night of the Living Dead” were filmed in a local cemetery.  Because it is called “Evans City Cemetery” most people do not realize that it is actually in Jackson Township but this little piece of the town is forever immortalized on the screen.  Whether you visit in the cool of winter or warmth of the summer, you should definitely consider checking out this cinematic historical site. 

This is a nice place to live if you prefer wide-open spaces and a laid back way of life.  It is a rural area with a relatively mild climate and beautiful landscapes and plenty of space for children to run, play, and explore making it a nice place to raise a family.
