Cranberry Township is a rapidly growing township in Butler County, Pennsylvania. Its population is expected to more than double in the next 2 decades and it has experienced a recent economical surge that has increased the population exponentially. It is the fastest-growing Pittsburgh suburb and with a moderate climate, a growing economy, and good schools, it is generally regarded as a safe and enjoyable place to live and work.
Because of the recent boom in population, many in the area consider Cranberry Township a new community. Named for the cranberries which used to grow in the area, this 200-year-old hamlet has some interesting historical sites including a preserved one room school house . It is open for tours May – September (when the weather is warmest) and can be rented for special events.
The community does experience seasons and is warm in the summer and cold in the winter but the weather is rarely extreme, making it a great place to live. The economic boom has attracted families to the small town and brought commuters in from other areas. However, the many recreational facilities, including a skate park, water park, and a number of other well-kept facilities and parks are why people are putting down roots.
